About the laboratory

Description

Our research is focused on architectural design for sustainability and health. One of our unique features is that we are conducting research on ZEB and ZEH towards carbon neutrality in 2050 and countermeasures against COVID-19 through collaboration between medicine and engineering.

Organization of research

First year Master's students split their time and effort evenly between coursework and research. Students acquire fundamental background skills through coursework and research review. We hold regularly meetings for all members to exchange important updates and to engage in research presentations. For specific research groups, online meetings are also held frequently.

Ongoing projects

Enrolled students' research topics

The research topic is determined according to the student's interests and aspirations, and based on mutual agreement between the student and advisor(s). Students are welcome to suggest their own ideas and preferences. In most cases, the advisor(s) suggests multiple options from which the students choose. Some students work on a continuing project inherited from a previous student, often in collaboration with a senior student. Also, students often work on a completely new project.
