A Visit from Kasetsart University

The delegation members from Kasetsart University (from now on referred to as KU) were welcomed by Prof. HABAZAKI Hiroki (Dean, Faculty of Engineering) , Prof. IZUMI Norihiro (Dean, Graduate School of Engineering), Prof. TABE Yutaka (Director, International Exchange Office), and Prof. OKABE Satoshi on Friday, November 17. Prof. Wanchai YODSUDJAI (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Dr. Patamaporn SRIPADUNGTHAM (Vice Dean of International Affairs), Dr. Wilasinee YOOCHATCHAVAL (Head, Department of Environmental Engineering), and Dr. Pongsak NOOPHAN (Department of Environmental Engineering) from KU visited our campus to discuss further student exchange opportunities.

The history of KU started with the agricultural education in 1904. Subsequently, it evolved, under the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, with the establishment of a College of Agriculture and a School of Forestry by 1942. KU was founded as a university in 1943 and it is the 3rd oldest university in Thailand. They have 5 campuses, 29 faculties, and a total of 70,116 students in the academic year 2022.

The Faculty of Engineering at the Bangkhen campus accommodates 6,169 students, of which 4,774 are Bachelor students, 1,211 are Master’s students, and 184 are Doctoral students during the academic year 2022. The faculty has 95 inbound exchange students and 52 international full-time students per academic year. The personnel is 499 in total: 258 of them are faculty members and 241 are supporting staff. Also, they pay a lot of attention to the international programs for Master’s level such as double degree and dual degrees programs. In 2023, the Faculty of Engineering celebrates its 85th anniversary.
