A Visit from Curtin University

The delegation members from Curtin University were welcomed by the Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University on Monday, May 15. Prof. Seth Kunin (Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International), Dr. Reto Hofmann (Dean Global, Japan/Office of the DVC Global and Senior Lecturer in History), and Dr. Richard Diaz Alorro (Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Researching) – Metallurgical Engineering) visited our campus to discuss future collaborative research in various engineering fields and educational exchanges.

Prof. Habazaki Hiroki (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Izumi Norihiro (Dean, Graduate School of Engineering), Prof. Tabe Yutaka (Director, International Exchange Office), Prof. Okazaki Taichiro (Former Director, International Exchange Office), Prof. Hiroyoshi Naoki (Director, Cooperative Program for Resources Engineering), Prof. Ito Mayumi (Agreement Contact Faculty), and 2 faculty members from Division of Sustainable Resource Engineering joined the discussion.

Curtin University was founded as the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) in 1967 and was renamed Curtin University in 2010. Around 50,000 students study on 5 campuses in Australia, Africa, and 3 Asian countries including international students.
