The delegation members from University of Science and Technology Beijing (hereinafter referred to as USTB) were welcomed by the Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University on Tuesday, June 6. Prof. HUANG Wunan (Member of Standing Committee/Vice President), Prof. SONG Bo (Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, School of Civil and Resource Engineering), Prof. CAO Wenbin (Professor, Department of Inorganic Nonmetallic Materials), Dr. HAN Wentuo (Associate Professor, School of Materials Science and Engineering), Mr. LI Baoming (Associate Director, Office of International Affairs),Mr. TANG Hui (Program Coordinator, International Experts Section, Office of International Affairs) and Prof. ONUKI Somei (Visiting Professor) visited our campus to discuss future collaborative research in various engineering fields.
Prof. HABASZAKI Hiroki (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Prof. IZUMI Norihiro (Dean, Graduate School of Engineering), Prof. TABE Yutaka (Director, International Exchange Office), Prof. OKAZAKI Taichiro (Former Director, International Exchange Office), and Prof. HASHIMOTO Naoyuki (Faculty of Engineering) joined the discussion.
The delegation members from USTB toured the 360° VR Theater facility for field science experiences and the Hokkaido University Museum. They also had an exchange meeting with their alumni and exchange students who are studying at Hokkaido University now.
USTB was founded as the Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel Technology, in 1952 and was renamed University of Science and Technology Beijing in 1988. Around 25,000 students enrolled in the university and about half of them are enrolled in the graduate schools.
