A visit from South China University of Technology

The delegation members from South China University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as SCUT) were welcomed by Hokkaido University (hereinafter referred to as HU) on Thursday, June 15.
Dr. ZHANG Xichun (Chancellor of SCUT), Ms. YAO Min (Director of International Office), Dr. XU Yong(Professor, Executive Vice-Dean of Graduate School), Dr. PENG Changxin (Professor, Dean of School of Architecture), Dr. LAI Wenbo (Associate Professor), Dr. PING Hui (Associate Professor) and Mr. WEI Tongtong (Section Chief, University Affairs Office) visited our campus to make a courtesy visit to Dr. HOUKIN Kiyohiro (President of HU) and to hold an agreement signing ceremony between the School of Architecture and School of Civil Engineering & Transportation, SCUT and the Graduate School and School of Engineering, HU.
The agreement signing ceremony by Dr. PENG Changxin and Dr. HABAZAKI Hiroki (Professor, Dean of Faculty and School of Engineering, HU) was held in the presence of the delegation members from SCUT, President HOUKIN, Dr. TAKAHASHI Aya (Professor, Vice-President of HU) and 4 faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering.
After the agreement signing ceremony, delegation members from SCUT and 6 professors from Faculty of Engineering had lunch in the Centennial Hall and explored HU campus such as the Hokkaido University Museum, Centennial Hall of School of Medicine, and historic architectures in the Sapporo Agricultural College Farm No.2.
SCUT was founded as the South China Institute of Technology in 1952 and was renamed the South China University of Technology in 1988. SCUT was chosen into China’s “Double World Class” project as a Category-A University in 2017.
