On April 2nd, the e3 Program Office and e3 Student Organization (SO) members held an orientation and a welcome party for newly enrolled e3 students. A total of 22 students joined the e3 program in April 2026.
During the orientation, the e3 staff explained the academic system, how to register for courses, and the daily procedures students need to follow. In addition, the SO members shared many practical tips about life in Hokkaido University and things international students should keep in mind, all based on their own experiences.
Following self-introductions by the new students, a brief welcome party was held. Participants were able to relax, enjoy conversation, and get to know one another better.
Finally, SO members offered an optional tour of the engineering buildings. Since the layout of these buildings is quite complex, we hope this tour will be helpful for their future campus life.
e3 students are coming from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but they have gradually opened up to each other as fellow newcomers beginning their studies at Hokkaido University.
We hope these encounters will make their future life at Hokkaido University smoother and more fulfilling. All professors, staff members, and friends will support the journey of all e3 students to become internationally competitive engineers!
