Students who are already enrolled in a master’s or doctoral course and wish to transfer to e3 program

1) New Students

Japanese students and international students who enrolled in a bachelor's degree at Hokkaido University and who have successfully passed the General Entrance Examination (Ippan-nyushi) to the Master's or Doctoral course at Graduate School of Engineering, Hokkaido University, can apply to participate in e3 program. 

*If a student currently enrolled in an e3 Master's course takes the General Entrance Examination (ippan-nyushi) instead of e3 Special Selection and proceeds to the Doctoral course, he/she will become a student of the Japanese course. If he/she wishes to proceed to the Doctoral course as the English course (e3 program), a separate application will be required. Please note that the course will not be automatically changed from the Japanese course to the English course (e3 program).

2) Transfer from Japanese course to English course (eprogram)

Japanese or international students who have already enrolled in a graduate program at Graduate School of Engineering, Hokkaido University may apply for transfer from the Japanese course to the English course (e3 program).

Eligibility

Students in a Master’s course: First year of enrollment in the Japanese course

Students in a Doctoral course: First 1.5 years of enrollment in the Japanese course

How to submit the application

Please bring the application documents to e3 office (A1-05) or send them via email (eprogram[at]eng.hokudai.ac.jp).

Documents required

Please submit the documents listed below to e3 office before the deadline. (All the documents must be in English.)

  1. Completed e3 application form
  2. Download an application form and fill it out.
    (PDF format)  (Word format)

    *Handwritten signatures of yourself and your (prospective) supervisor are necessary on the e3 application form.

    *If submitting by email, please make a PDF file of the e3 application form after you and your (prospective) supervisor have signed it.

  3. Research proposal
  4. English score certificate(TOEFL 79 or over, TOEIC L&R 730 or over, IELTS(Academic) 6.0 or over)

※ If the original test score sheet has already been submitted for the General Entrance Examination, please provide the following information at the time of document submission, either at the counter or in the body of an email.

(a) The name of the English test

(b) The score

(c) "The original test score sheet has already been submitted for the General Entrance Exam."

※ e3 program graduates do not need to submit an English score since they are MI holders. Please inform us about it at the counter or write it in the body of the email.
